Is the government really tryin to make Singapore a smoke-free country? Is it possible? Or are they just tryin to make more money from all these excuses? I dont know the answer but we smokers have the same questions.. Y Singapore like that one??
For your info.. The rise of the cost of cigerattes doesn't make smokers quit smokin.. Yes the sales of cig does decrease but do you know that the amount of ppl gettin caught with duty-free cig is also increasin at the same time?? I can say it's not possible to stop ppl from doin something if they really want to do, so stop tryin so hard.. Although we know smokin doesn't do any good to our body but we still have the rights to choose what we can do.. It's better to be a crime-free country than smoke-free.. Agree?
So what's the reason behind that ppl are still smokin even though it's killin them? Some smoked because they have too much time but dunno where to spend.. Some ppl think it's the only thing that's able to make them relax.. Some think that it's the only thing that's able to keep them company, to be precise, they are lonely.. Most of them cus of habit.. Overall what I can say is ppl smoke to satisfy their own personal needs in their heart.. Quittin actually doesn't have any symptoms like runny nose, cough, sore throat, headache, etc.. It's just that we dont want to stop. That's all!! I had experience of being behind bars for as long as 3 months.. Smokin is not allowed in there but I didnt have even 1 of the mentioned symptoms, same to the others inside.. But I still continued smokin after my release. Hurhur~
What's worse.. Some places have controlled smokin areas.. Comin soon will be in clubs and pubs.. I even heard somethin more absurd from 1 of my friend, he told me we're not able to smoke even while walkin on the streets.. Cus there are complains from non-smokers that they're inhalin harmful and poisonous cig smokes while waitin for the traffic lights, while walkin along streets, bla bla bla..
Smokers are not outcasts.. Dont have to go to these extends to make us suffer!! If those walkin along the streets and those pedestrians waitin to cross the road got offended by the smoke then just shun away from the person smokin!! What's so hard about takin a step away?
I know even if this were to be emailed to the government, cig price will still stay the same, and will still be increasin in the near future.. I'm just writin all these to get a load which has been botherin me for years off my chest.. Voices of little ppl..
